Change.
None of us like it, and we often resist it; but when it comes down to it we don’t seem to have a choice in what happens and must go along with it - or be left behind.Our association has experienced some BIG changes lately with the retirement of our Director of Mission, Dr. Chester Ward. I commend Chester for his faithful and committed service of nearly 18 years. That speaks well of his devotion to his call to ministry and love for the Lord. Thanks again Chester for a job well done! We will miss you and your leadership.
Now with change come new directions. At a special called meeting of the KBA Executive Board on April 6 two decisions were made:
First, I was elected to the voluntary position of "Acting Director of Missions." My responsibility is to help our association to continue to do business and minister to the needs of our churches and missions during the interim. I served in this same capacity 18 years ago.
Second, a DOM Search Committee was elected by our board of directors. That committee exists of: Michael Ridgway (pastor at Longwood Baptist, Ponca), Rex Roberts (pastor at FBC, Newkirk), Mike Seabaugh (pastor at FBC, Ponca), Randy Ratliff (associate pastor at Northeast Baptist, Ponca), and Sherry Wilkinson (KBA WMU Director and lay person at FBC, Blackwell). At their first meeting they elected Rex Roberts to serve as chairman of the Search Committee.
Please pray for both me and our Search Committee as we all strive to move our association forward and in a new direction that will honor the Lord and best minister to our churches. Feel free to call upon me with any special needs you might have.

Burbank, FBC - will have their Spring Revival May 16-19 with Clint Sinclair, evangelist. Pastor is Bro. Dennis Wildman.
Ponca City, FBC - Will honor graduates on May 16 in the morning Worship Service. Dr. Mike Seabaugh is Pastor.
Ponca City, Longwood - will have their Spring Revival May 23-26 with Steve Cody, evangelist. Bro. Michael Ridgway is Pastor.
Tonkawa, FBC - Vacation Bible School - May 25 - 28 9:00 - 11:30 am. Pastor is Dr. Richard Thomasson.
