Shalom.

I ask forgiveness for not writing sooner. My how time flies. This spring has been a very hectic yet rewarding one. I attended two leadership meeting and have much to tell you. Then there was a short stay in the hospital with recuperation time after back surgery. Next, as you know, it was time to plan for Vacation Bible School.

We are in some exciting times in God's timetable. I ask that you examine your hearts and the hearts of your ladies to see if you are "On Mission" with God.

Several of our congregations will go on mission trips this summer and I hope you will send me a report of what you did.

I am asking that you pass this newsletter on to all your ladies and pastor.  If possible, make copies for each of you.

Remember we are "Called to Love".
Our Watchword: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

DaySpring Villa
Women and Children's Shelter

30th Anniversary (1980-2010)

Thirty years ago this February, DaySpring Villa was known as Baptist Women's Shelter, the only refuge in Tulsa at the time for battered and abused women and their children. They began their service in a scarred and feeble building perched on the edge of downtown, with more open hearts than material resources, and depended on the generosity of local churches to help house, feed and clothe these families in crisis.

For those new to DaySpring Villa, it is privately funded by individuals, churches, businesses, trusts, and foundations so your support is vital to their mission: Transforming the lives of women and their children in crisis.

They need our help to continue being the conduit of change for those affected by domestic violence.

CALLED
If you do not have a Women's Missions and Ministry, Please pray about beginning one.

The Five Petals of our ministry is for every woman whether she chooses to use them as her individual lifestyle or if she chooses to work together in a group for a broader witness.

Prayer -- We encourage women to GROUND their ministry in communication with Christ - expressing their hearts in honesty, interceding for others, and ultimately listening and seeking to know the heart of Christ. Ephesians 6: 18 "With every prayer and request, pray at all times in the Spirit, and stay alert in this, with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints."

Discipleship -- We encourage women to DEEPEN their ministry through study, meditation and memorization of Scripture resulting in relationships defined by intentionally, mentorship and accountability. 2 Timothy 2: 15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn't need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth.”

Evangelism -- We encourage women to EXERCISE their faith by developing relationships with others who need to receive the message of tile Gospel. They do this by modeling the message and sharing their personal faith story with boldness, confidence, humility and compassion. Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth."

Missions -- We encourage women to actively ECHO God's heart for the world by praying, giving, sending and going, to be a teachable vessel, fulfilling the Great Commission In their local communities, their state, their nation, and ultimately, in the uttermost parts of the earth. Matthew 28: 19-20 "Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations. Baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Community -- We encourage women to REACH out from the overflow of their personal relationship with Christ by creating environment for fellowship, worship, unity, edification and the service of others for the building of God's kingdom. John 13:34-35 "I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
